These Terms & Conditions apply to quotations, services and works undertaken by Mould Medico ("Mould Medico", "we", "us" or "our") for customers ("you", "your" or "the client").
By accepting a quotation, engaging Mould Medico, allowing works to commence or making payment for our services, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
- Our Services
Mould Medico provides professional mould remediation, mould treatment, antimicrobial decontamination and preventative treatment services for residential, commercial and other properties.
Our services may include, depending on the quotation and agreed scope:
- Antimicrobial mould remediation
- Internal surface treatment
- HEPA vacuum cleaning
- Antimicrobial ULV decontamination misting
- Preventative antimicrobial treatments
- Treatment of ceilings and cornices
- Treatment of walls and skirting boards
- Treatment of doors and frames
- Treatment of windows, frames and tracks
- Treatment of wardrobes and cabinetry
- Treatment of kitchen cabinetry and shelving
- Treatment of other accessible internal surfaces
- Roof void or cavity treatment where specifically included
- Other services specifically identified in the quotation
The exact services to be provided will be determined by the accepted quotation and agreed scope of works.
- Quotations and Scope of Works
All quotations are based on the information available to Mould Medico at the time of preparing the quotation.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, a quotation is based on visible and reasonably accessible conditions and does not include concealed defects, hidden mould, concealed water damage, structural defects, hazardous materials or conditions that could not reasonably be identified before works commenced.
The agreed quotation and scope of works will identify the areas and services included.
Any additional work requested by the client or reasonably required due to conditions discovered during the works may incur additional charges.
Where practical, Mould Medico will discuss additional work with the client before proceeding.
- Property Condition and Pre-Existing Issues
The client acknowledges that mould is generally associated with moisture and environmental conditions.
Mould treatment alone may not prevent mould from returning where underlying moisture or environmental problems remain.
These problems may include:
- Rising damp
- Poor foundation drainage
- Groundwater or water ingress
- Roof leaks
- Gutter or downpipe problems
- Plumbing leaks
- Building defects
- Condensation
- Excessive indoor humidity
- Inadequate ventilation
- Poorly ventilated bathrooms or wet areas
- Water penetration through walls or floors
- Flooding
- Poor drainage around the property
- Inadequate insulation
- Structural or building-envelope defects
Where Mould Medico identifies conditions that may contribute to mould recurrence, the client will be advised where reasonably possible.
The client is responsible for addressing underlying moisture and building issues.
Mould Medico cannot guarantee that mould will not return where the underlying moisture source or environmental conditions remain unresolved.
- Inspection and Independent Assessment
Mould Medico does not generally undertake independent mould inspection or testing services where doing so could create a conflict of interest with proposed remediation works.
Where an independent inspection, testing, sampling or assessment is required or requested, Mould Medico may recommend an independent specialist such as The Mould Assessors.
Independent testing, laboratory analysis, post-remediation verification or air-clearance testing is separate from Mould Medico's remediation services unless specifically included in writing.
The client may independently engage a suitably qualified third party for inspection, testing or post-remediation verification.
- Remediation and Decontamination
Where full remediation is included, Mould Medico may undertake physical treatment of accessible affected surfaces followed by HEPA cleaning and antimicrobial decontamination.
The precise methodology will depend on the property, materials, extent of contamination and agreed scope.
Mould Medico may use:
Physical surface treatment
Affected accessible surfaces may be manually treated as specified in the quotation.
HEPA cleaning
HEPA-filtered equipment may be used to remove particulate contamination from treated areas and surfaces.
ULV antimicrobial decontamination misting
A fine antimicrobial mist may be applied throughout specified internal areas to assist with airborne and surface decontamination and provide antimicrobial coverage to accessible surfaces.
ULV misting is not a substitute for physical remediation where mould contamination requires physical removal or cleaning.
- Preventative Misting / Misting-Only Services
Where the client selects a misting-only or preventative treatment rather than full remediation, the service is intended as a preventative or antimicrobial treatment and does not constitute comprehensive mould remediation.
Misting-only services do not include the detailed physical treatment and HEPA cleaning associated with a full remediation service unless specifically stated in the quotation.
Mould Medico does not provide a remediation warranty for areas where the client has specifically declined recommended remediation and selected a misting-only service.
Any antimicrobial coating or treatment may become ineffective or be removed where surfaces are subsequently exposed to moisture, condensation, water, cleaning, painting, abrasion or other environmental conditions.
- Access to the Property
The client must provide Mould Medico with safe and reasonable access to the areas included in the agreed scope.
The client must ensure that:
- Keys, access codes or other required access arrangements are provided
- Areas requiring treatment are reasonably accessible
- Personal belongings are removed or appropriately protected where required
- Furniture and other items are moved where necessary to allow access
- Pets and other animals are appropriately secured during works
- Children and unauthorised persons are kept away from work areas
- Mould Medico is informed of known hazards or risks associated with the property
If access is restricted or areas cannot reasonably be treated, Mould Medico may exclude those areas from the works.
- Personal Belongings and Soft Furnishings
Unless specifically included in the quotation, Mould Medico does not provide remediation or decontamination services for personal possessions, clothing, mattresses, bedding, upholstered furniture, carpets, curtains, books, artwork, electronics or other personal belongings.
The client is responsible for removing, protecting or arranging specialist treatment for personal belongings where required.
Mould Medico accepts no responsibility for damage to belongings that remain in the treatment area where reasonable care has been taken and the items were not specifically included in the agreed scope.
- Surfaces, Paint and Building Materials
Mould Medico assumes that surfaces being treated are reasonably sound and suitable for the agreed treatment.
Mould contamination, moisture and remediation processes may reveal existing deterioration or damage, including:
- Peeling or deteriorated paint
- Bubbling paint
- Water-damaged plasterboard
- Deteriorated plaster
- Damaged cornices
- Deteriorated sealants
- Timber deterioration
- Delaminated surfaces
- Existing staining
- Structural or building defects
Mould Medico is not responsible for pre-existing deterioration or damage that becomes visible during or following treatment.
Where repainting, replacement of damaged materials, plastering, carpentry or other building work is required, such work is excluded unless specifically included in the quotation.
- Bathrooms, Laundries and Wet Areas
Wet areas such as bathrooms, laundries and ensuites are subject to elevated moisture, humidity, condensation and water exposure.
Mould Medico does not provide a warranty against mould recurrence in wet areas unless specifically agreed in writing.
Mould Medico does not warrant against mould or deterioration caused by:
- Excessive moisture
- Steam
- Condensation
- Poor ventilation
- Inadequate exhaust systems
- Waterproofing defects
- Plumbing leaks
- Failed silicone or sealants
- Deteriorated grout
- Water penetration
- Ongoing moisture exposure
Bathroom and wet-area grout is not generally included as part of a mould remediation warranty. Where grout has deteriorated or requires restoration, a specialist grout or bathroom contractor may be required.
Where appropriate, epoxy grout or other suitable waterproofing solutions may be recommended by the relevant specialist.
- Roof Voids and Building Cavities
Where roof voids, ceiling cavities or other concealed areas are included in the quotation, treatment is limited to areas that are safely and reasonably accessible.
Mould Medico does not warrant areas that cannot be reasonably accessed or inspected.
Existing insulation, structural materials, electrical components, plumbing, roof structures and other building components may contain pre-existing damage or defects.
Mould Medico is not responsible for pre-existing conditions that are discovered during works.
- Client Responsibilities
The client is responsible for taking reasonable steps to address underlying conditions that may contribute to mould growth.
This may include:
- Repairing leaks
- Improving drainage
- Addressing rising damp
- Repairing roofs and gutters
- Maintaining downpipes
- Improving bathroom ventilation
- Ensuring exhaust fans discharge appropriately
- Managing indoor humidity
- Improving air circulation
- Addressing condensation
- Maintaining plumbing
- Addressing water ingress
- Maintaining the property following treatment
Where these issues are not addressed, mould may return and any warranty may be affected.
- Recommended Indoor Humidity
Mould Medico recommends maintaining indoor relative humidity at an appropriate level and, where practical, generally below approximately 55% RH.
Humidity levels may vary depending on weather, building design, occupancy and ventilation.
The client is responsible for ongoing environmental management following treatment.
This may include the use of suitable ventilation, air conditioning, dehumidification and other appropriate moisture-control measures.
- Warranty
Unless otherwise stated in writing, Mould Medico provides a six-month limited warranty on treated internal surfaces within the areas included in the agreed remediation scope.
The warranty applies only to the specific internal areas treated by Mould Medico.
The warranty is subject to the conditions contained in these Terms & Conditions.
The warranty does not constitute a guarantee that mould will never return.
Mould recurrence may occur due to environmental conditions, moisture, water ingress, condensation, humidity, building defects or other circumstances outside Mould Medico's reasonable control.
- Warranty Exclusions
The six-month warranty does not apply to:
- Bathrooms
- Ensuites
- Laundries
- Other wet areas
- External surfaces
- Flooding
- Storm damage
- Extreme weather events
- New or subsequent water ingress
- Plumbing leaks occurring after treatment
- Roof leaks occurring after treatment
- Rising damp that has not been rectified
- Poor drainage
- Excessive humidity
- Condensation
- Poor ventilation
- Building or waterproofing defects
- Areas that were inaccessible
- Soft furnishings or personal belongings
- Tenant possessions
- Surfaces subsequently damaged or altered
- Surfaces that have been painted, sanded, cleaned or otherwise modified following treatment
- Mould arising from new moisture or environmental conditions
- Areas where recommended remediation was declined
- Misting-only or preventative-only treatments unless specifically covered by a separate written warranty
- Warranty Conditions
The warranty is conditional upon the client taking reasonable steps to maintain the property and prevent the recurrence of moisture-related problems.
This includes maintaining:
- Roofs
- Gutters
- Downpipes
- Drainage
- Plumbing
- Ventilation
- Exhaust systems
- Indoor humidity
- Building maintenance
If mould returns within the warranty period, Mould Medico may inspect the affected area to determine whether the recurrence falls within the scope of the warranty.
The warranty does not automatically entitle the client to a full repeat treatment.
Where recurrence is caused by an underlying condition outside Mould Medico's control, additional treatment may be chargeable.
- No Guarantee of Complete Removal from Concealed Areas
Mould Medico can only treat areas that are reasonably accessible and included in the agreed scope.
Mould may exist within concealed wall cavities, insulation, flooring systems, roof structures, cabinetry, wall linings or other inaccessible areas.
Where concealed contamination cannot reasonably be accessed without demolition or building works, Mould Medico does not guarantee complete removal from those concealed areas.
Additional building or demolition work may be required and is outside the scope of Mould Medico unless specifically agreed.
- Staining and Discolouration
Mould treatment may reduce or remove active mould contamination; however, staining, discolouration or permanent marks may remain.
Mould staining does not necessarily indicate that viable mould remains.
Repainting or replacement of affected materials may be required where cosmetic restoration is desired.
Painting and building repairs are not included unless specifically stated in the quotation.
- Hazardous Materials and Unsafe Conditions
Mould Medico is not a hazardous-materials removal contractor unless specifically licensed and contracted to undertake such work.
This may include asbestos, lead-based materials, contaminated building materials, structural hazards, electrical hazards or other dangerous materials.
If Mould Medico identifies a condition that presents a safety risk, works may be stopped or modified until the hazard has been appropriately assessed or rectified.
Additional costs associated with specialist contractors or hazardous-material management are the responsibility of the client unless otherwise agreed.
- Occupants, Pets and Re-Entry
Clients must follow all instructions provided by Mould Medico regarding access to treated areas and re-entry following treatment.
Where ULV antimicrobial misting is undertaken, occupants, children and pets may be required to leave the treatment area or property for a specified period.
The property must be adequately ventilated following treatment as instructed.
Mould Medico will provide reasonable re-entry instructions based on the treatment undertaken and the product manufacturer's requirements.
- Product Use
Mould Medico may use professional antimicrobial, cleaning and remediation products suitable for the intended application.
Products will be used in accordance with applicable manufacturer instructions and the agreed service methodology.
The client should inform Mould Medico before treatment of any known sensitivities, allergies, chemical restrictions, environmental concerns or other relevant requirements.
No product should be represented as providing medical treatment or curing a medical condition.
- Payment Terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due in accordance with the payment terms stated on the quotation or invoice.
Where account terms have been approved, payment is due on the 15th of the month or by the end of the month following the invoice date, as specified in the applicable agreement.
Where a deposit is required to secure an appointment, the appointment will not be confirmed until the required deposit has been received.
Mould Medico reserves the right to postpone or cancel works where required payments have not been received.
- Deposits and Cancellation
Where a deposit is required to secure a booking, the deposit may be applied towards the final invoice.
The client should provide reasonable notice if an appointment needs to be cancelled or rescheduled.
Where significant preparation, travel, scheduling commitments or specialist resources have been arranged, Mould Medico reserves the right to recover reasonable costs arising from late cancellation or failure to provide access.
Any cancellation fee will be communicated to the client where applicable.
- Additional Work
If additional work is requested by the client or becomes reasonably necessary due to conditions discovered after commencement, Mould Medico may provide an additional quotation or variation.
Additional work will not be included in the original quoted price unless expressly agreed.
Examples may include:
- Additional rooms
- Additional cabinetry
- Additional roof or cavity areas
- Significant additional mould contamination
- Additional cleaning
- Additional HEPA treatment
- Additional labour
- Building access difficulties

- Delays and Circumstances Beyond Our Control
Mould Medico will make reasonable efforts to attend appointments and complete works within agreed timeframes.
We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:
- Severe weather
- Flooding
- Storms
- Unsafe property conditions
- Access restrictions
- Equipment failure
- Supplier delays
- Power failure
- Government restrictions
- Emergencies
- Other events outside our reasonable control
Where practical, we will communicate significant delays and arrange an alternative time.
- Photographs and Documentation
Mould Medico may take photographs or other records of affected areas before, during and after treatment for purposes including:
- Documenting the condition of the property
- Recording the scope of works
- Quality assurance
- Preparing reports
- Supporting warranty matters
- Maintaining business records

Photographs containing identifiable personal information or personal belongings will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
